Daniel Royer can't seem to stop scoring.

The Austrian netted two goals against the Montreal Impact, one on a penalty kick and the second in the run of play as the game was coming to a close. As has become tradition, he flipped both times in his celebration.

"He's playing great," Head Coach Jesse Marsch said following the win. "He's got so much confidence and clarity around the goal, it's almost like if a shot of his doesn't go in, it's surprising right now."

Along with his personal success, the team is in a good way right now and Royer would prefer to talk about the team's run of late.

"I want to talk about this team effort because the whole team [has been] doing great the past few weeks," Royer said. "We’re dangerous and aggressive in the attack. We are compact defensively and its just been fun to play. It’s a team effort and I think we are doing really good in the past weeks."

Royer has tallied at least one goal in four-straight matches, which is tied for the second-longest streak in MLS this season. It is also tied for the longest-active streak with David Villa.

Marsch called Royer's finishing "lethal."

"The last few weeks were quite good for the team and for me personally," Royer said of the new formation for New York. "It’s just fun to play. Sacha [Kljestan] creates spaces and he’s great in those spots where he’s been and I think we’re connected with him. Sean Davis and I as number eights, but also the guys on top and behind us, it’s just fun to play.

"We’re getting nice spots, creating chances, and have good combinations," Royer said. "Just fun."

Royer moved into a tie for seventh on the club’s all-time list with three penalty kick goals.

"It's great to see him doing so well," Marsch said.
