Kaku started up top next to Carlos González in the 4-4-2 formation, before being subbed off in the 68th minute for Celso Ortiz.

La Albirroja played from behind early, having conceded three goals within the first 25 minutes of the match. Paraguay started to chip away, with goals by Hernán Pérez in the 59th minute and Derlis González in the 84th, but ultimately their comeback fell short.

Kaku is set to rejoin the Red Bulls before the team heads off to Chicago to take on the Chicago Fire on Saturday, in SeatGeek Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 PM ET, with coverage on MSG and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish.
