What to Watch For: NYRB II @ Charlotte Independence

Buckmaster | 3/24/19

New York Red Bulls II will travel to face Charlotte Independence on April 13, with kick-off set for 7 p.m. ET. This will be the ninth meeting between the two clubs, here are three things to watch for:

SOMETHING ABOUT CHARLOTTE

New York Red Bulls II have had their fair share of troubles on the road in their five-year history, but Charlotte has been a place that has been kind to them. They have been able to gain results in three out of four matches that have taken place in Charlotte. Watch for NYRB II to create a lot of chances and have a great chance at earning something against the Independence.

MR. CONSISTENT

NYRB II defender Rece Buckmaster has flown under the radar through the first three matches of the season, but he has put in consistent performances, according to head coach John Wolyniec. “I think he is really aggressive and interested in learning and getting better. Those are the types of people that have the tendency to have success with us, so he has done really well in the first few games and probably one of our most consistent players,” Wolyniec said. Keep an eye out for Buckmaster in this weekend’s match against the Independence.

GOALS ARE COMING

In the nine matches that the two clubs have played against each other, 30 goals have been scored in total. There has been only one match where one team failed to score any goals. Also, with the way NYRB II has been creating chances, we could see more goals this weekend in Charlotte.
