INSIDE THE 18: Red Bulls Add Wrinkles for Midweek Matchup -

The New York Red Bulls will debut an altered lineup for their Wednesday night game at Portland Timbers FC.

The Red Bulls will start Tom Barlow up top, supported by Josh Sims, Marc Rzatkowski and Alex Muyl as attacking midfielders.

New York will face Portland for just the 10th time in a league match and fifth in Portland. The Red Bulls have shown success when visiting Portland as they have picked up at least a point in three of the previous four matches.

Sean Davis and Cristian Casseres Jr., who was forced out of the Seattle Sounders game in the first half due to a knee injury, will be on the pitch for the initial whistle as defensive midfielders.

Along the back line, Kemar Lawrence, Aaron Long, Tim Parker and Kyle Duncan start for New York, with Luis Robles in goal and wearing the captain's armband.

New York has responded with multi-goal performances in six of the 11 matches following a loss.

Off the bench, Head Coach Chris Armas will have Kaku, Bradley Wright-Phillips and Daniel Royer available, alongside Sean Nealis, Omir Fernandez, Michael Amir Murillo and Ryan Meara.

New York's magic number is six with four games remaining. With a win on Wednesday night, there is a scenario where the Red Bulls clinch a spot in the playoffs before their next match on Sunday vs. Philadelphia Union at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls would need three points, plus Chicago Fire and Montreal Impact to lose, while Orlando City SC to lose or draw.

Brian White and Amro Tarek are out with ankle injuries.

Kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. EST with coverage on MSG, MSG Go and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.

New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 9:30 p.m. EST with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon. Ernesto Motta will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 10 p.m. EST.
