Klimala Named to MLS Team of the Week Starting XI After Chicago Brace

Despite only playing the second half, Patryk Klimala's two-goal performance against Chicago Fire FC lead the Red Bulls to yet another road victory, and landed him in the starting XI of the MLS Team of the Week.

This is Klimala's second appearance this season, but his first as a starter. He was featured in the Team of the Week bench after his three assists helped New York to a 4-1 win at Toronto FC in week two of the MLS season.

The goals for Klimala were his second and third of the season and the 10th and 11th of his MLS career. He has scored eight goals on the road in his MLS career.

The match also marked the first multi-goal match for Klimala in his Red Bulls career.

Klimala is the 28th player in franchise history to record double-digit goals and assists in his MLS career.

This is the second consecutive week that the Red Bulls have had a starter in the MLS Team of the Week. Aaron Long received the honor after helping lead New York to a 3-0 victory at Orlando City.

After five road matches this season, all of which have resulted in wins, New York has had at least one player feature in the Team of the Week.

Klimala's efforts helped the Red Bulls earned their 120th road win in franchise history, which is tied with Sporting Kansas City for the second-most in MLS history. '

New York will now travel back to Red Bull Arena to face off against Portland Timbers on Saturday, May 7. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on MSG, MSG GO and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
