HARRISON, N.J. (October 8, 2021) – New York Red Bulls II (5-16-6, 21 points) will travel to face the Charlotte Independence (14-9-4, 46 points) on Saturday, October 9. Kickoff from Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.

New York is unbeaten in its last three matches, coming off a 3-3 draw against Loudoun United FC on Thursday, September 30. Forward Luther Archimede recorded his first professional goal and his first professional assist within a three-minute span early in the second half. Forward Omar Sowe scored his team-leading seventh goal on a penalty kick in the latter stages of the first half.

The match will mark the conclusion of the regular season series between the two clubs, with New York holding a 2-1-0 edge. Charlotte won the most recent meeting 3-2 on August 10 at MSU Soccer Park.

The last match that New York played in Charlotte, it mounted a second half comeback after trailing at halftime to come away with all three points on July 7. Midfielder Austin Brummett’s first professional goal in the 79th minute proved to be the game-winner.
