HARRISON, N.J. (March 11, 2019) - New York Red Bulls II host the Hartford Athletic in their second match of the 2020 USL Championship season. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET at MSU Soccer Park with coverage available on ESPN+.
NYRB II look to right the ship, as they are coming off a tough season opening loss to the Tampa Bay Rowdies, in a 1-0 loss at home. Wallis Lapsley performed well in his first professional game, recording two saves and holding the Rowdies scoreless for a majority of the game.
The last time these two sides met, NYRB II defeated the Hartford Athletic, 5-1, on August 10. NYRB II got goals from Jared Stroud and Chris Lema, among others, in the victory. NYRB II hold a 2-0-0 record against the Hartford Athletic all-time.
Hartford Athletic are heading into their season opener in this matchup against NYRB II. This is their second season in the USL Championship, and they finished 17th in the Eastern Conference in 2019, going 8-21-5 (29 pts).
Following Friday’s match, NYRB II hits the road, where they’ll face the Charlotte Independence on March 21, with kick-off set for 7 p.m. ET.
