U-13 Fall Season Review

U13

Daniel Gutierrez: U-13 Head Coach, Red Bulls Academy

Review of Fall Season:

The fall season provided us with excellent challenges, starting in pre-season with the PDA kick-off tournament in which our U-13’s played PDA, Boston Bolts, and TSF Academy – these matches provided valuable lessons the U-13 age group would take into the MLS NEXT league season. In league play, the U-13’s finished first in the number of points gained (26pts: 8 wins, 2 ties, and zero losses), first in goal differential (+29) with 31 goals for and two (2) goals against, and second in points per game (2.6).

In addition to a competitive league season, we were also able to supplement games against quality opponents such as NYCFC U-13 (3-0 Win and 3-2 Win), Penn Fusion SA U-14 (3-1 Win), and Morris Elite SC U-14 (5-4 Loss).

Aims & Objectives:

The goal is to continue building on the momentum from the fall in providing matches against older opponents, whilst also providing playing-up opportunities to our top 2010 aged U-12 players. Within a transitional year from 9 versus 9 to 11 versus 11, our 2009 age group will continue to show tremendous growth in their ability to execute The Red Bulls Way playing philosophy in an 11 versus 11 setting.
