The New York Red Bulls got their fourth win of the 2020 season after defeating D.C. United at Audi Field on Saturday.

In the 29th minute, Aaron Long scored his first goal of the season off a set-piece play, executed by Kaku.

After the first 45 minutes, goalkeeper Ryan Meara made four saves, two of them happening back-to-back in the late stages of the first half.

Florian Valot came onto the pitch in the 53rd minute, taking Dru Yearwood’s place. The 20-year-old midfielder got his first MLS start on Saturday night.

In the 60th minute, Danny Royer vollied into the back of the net for his second goal of the season. Both Kaku and Jason Pendant got the assist.

Two minutes after taking the two-goal lead, Head Coach Bradley Carnell made two substitutions. Brian White and David Jensen came on, and Mathias Jørgensen and Meara stepped out.

Meara left with a knock on his left quadricep.

The Red Bulls’ last two substitutions were Jared Stroud and Ben Mines taking Royer and Kaku’s slots on the field.
